The Vulcan Library now has snowshoes that can be checked out with your library card! There are two sets of each size: small (for persons up to 150lbs), medium (up to 200lbs), and large (up to 250lbs). Visit the library to sign out snowshoes.

A baby signing kit containing flash cards, DVDs, board books, 1 signing poster and reference books. It is all you need to start teaching your baby to sign.

The Friends of the Vulcan Municipal Library Society (FOL) is a very valuable asset to our community as they are the sole fundraisers for the Vulcan Municipal Library. FOL has had fundraiser events in the past including: Casino, Meat Raffle, Book Sale and a Silent Auction. For many organizations in the community applying for a Casino is a great opportunity for organizations like this to survive. 

This group currently meets approximately once every three months or when otherwise needed in between. If you or anybody you know are interested in joining this group please please come into the Library or call 403-485-2571.

Town of Vulcan - Vulcan is well known as the Star Trek Capital of Canada. It was originally named after the god of war. The 2006 census reports 1,960 residents.

Town of Vulcan Recreation - Recreation encourages healthy, active lifestyles by promoting and facilitating recreational activities and programs by working together with sport and community groups and the public.

Vulcan County - includes the Town of Vulcan, Carmangay, Champion, Milo, Lomond, and Arrowwood as well as 8 hamlets. There are approximately 6,600 residents.

Chinook Arch Regional Library System card holders have access to nearly 1,000,000 physical items, over 30,000 downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, and movies, 20,000 digital magazines and newspapers, and online courses.

Items at any library in the system can be delivered to your local library by placing a hold. Items borrowed at one library can be returned at any Chinook Arch member library.

Chinook Arch Regional Library System serves 33 libraries in 41 member municipalities across Southern Alberta, on traditional Blackfoot territory. 

If you are a resident of a Chinook Arch member municipality and are 18 years of age or older, you can sign up for an eCard. 

If you already have a Library card, you do not need an eCard. Your current library card can be used to access online resources and place holds. If your existing card needs to be renewed, please choose one of the following options:
